Talk about 'Jurasic Park'. The mighty great white sturgeon can grow to mammoth sizes and live for hundreds of years. If you've ever wanted to match brain and brawn with a powerful creature, try this on for size. We traveled to Oregon's Columbia River to battle as many oversized sturgeon as we could take with guide Kelly Short of Kelly Short Outdoors.

Kelly hooked us into several huge fish, and I must say we passed the pole several times. July is the best month to fish for oversized sturgeon while keeper sturgeon can be fished in various locations of the Columbia River throughout the year.
